No Flame Strategies To Scent An Office

There can be many ways to scent a office, home, or special room that are alternatives to candles in regards to not using a flame. These are quickly becoming very popular because as many folks either aren’t allowed open flames in their area, they are wary about fire hazards that candles may present, or have their own reasons for prefering no flame solutions. These ideas are great for offices, classrooms and other situations where a flame is not permitted. A person can never know too many different ways to create sensory attractiveness to your house.

One way is known as ‘no flame’ candles or something similar of name. They are basically a candle with no wick. Some are sold in travel tins, or other shallow jars for easier melting. You typically employ use of a coffee mug warmer, which is an electric small hot plate. Set the flameless candle tin on the hotplate, make sure it is in the on position, and the wax will melt, throwing a lovely fragrance as if you’re burning a candle, but no flame is being used.

A similar twist to no flame candles are tart melters, they also may be sold as different names according to different manufacturers. Many exists in the market today, but are found in one of two general varieties. One type has a small dish on top that is warmed by burning a small tea light candle underneath it ( so is not technically totally flameless); the other type is a small dish of some kind that is heated by electricity. Whichever style you use, place a small amount of scented wax in the small dish area, as it melts, it gives off a pleasing scent. The small pieces of fragranced wax are usually called tarts, melts or many other creative names, and can be bought in stores and by candle makers.

A variation of the this method is to set a tiny amount of pure olive oil in the small dish area, with a couple drops of candle fragrance oil, or essential oils, your choice. These scented oils can also be applied as a refresher to potpourri, when it scent has faded significantly, in order to revive it.

Reed diffusers are a great idea and adds a pretty decorative touch, these can be used in conjunction with stock and fine art photos on the wall behind it, for a visually beautiful effect. The main idea is a small glass jar containing a scented oil base, with long porous reeds sticking out of the top of the jar. The scented oil draws up into the reeds, throwing a light scent. It is recommended that the reeds turned end over end, every couple of weeks. The reed diffuser is done when the oil is evaporated up and no longer remains. They are incredibly long lasting. The scent throw is typically lighter in strength, than most candles, but are great for bathrooms and bedrooms setting.

There are products made from scented beads, and are also known by many different names. Some are sold in pretty organza bags, others are made into shapes to form car freshener type scents.

Scented light bulb rings are another way to fragrance a room without a flame. They are small rings made of various porous material, that you set on top of a light bulb, then a couple drops of scented oil is applied to the ring. The heat from the light bulb activates the scent.

Experiment with the different types available to find your favorite. You may be a faithful candle lover, flame and all, but is can be a nice change to try alternative ways.
